Almost everyone has heard of Norway’s best-known natural landmark, the fjord, but what people may not realize is that Geirangerfjord is one of the most impressive fjords in Norway.
It’s one of the 11 National Tourist Routes of Norway and has been featured in many breathtaking travel photos.
Nestled along the edge of the fjord are two small towns: Geiranger, where you can see the most people and the “Great Geirangerfjord Exhibition” which was responsible for drawing a lot of visitors to Geiranger over the years, and Sognefjord, which is more of a picturesque village.
The fjord itself is magnificent. You will get to see the bridge, the fjord and the villages as you travel on a small boat. You will even have a chance to see the Geiranger Cat, one of the most photographed cats in the world.
It is a 30-minute boat ride from the town of Geiranger and the starting point is at Hotel Geiranger in the town.
